Why does a child feel more pain when falls down on a hard cement floor, than when she falls on the soft muddy ground in the garden?

When a kid falls on a hard cement floor, the child feels more pain than when the child falls on soft muddy ground in the yard, since the time it takes the child to stop on the cemented ground is extremely short, but the time it takes on the soft muddy ground is much longer. When the time it takes to come to a complete stop is longer, the acceleration is lessened, resulting in less force.
