Problems caused by non-biodegradable wastes:
1. Cannot be decomposed by micro-organisms.
2. As the number increases, dumping becomes a problem.
3. Indestructible waste such as heavy metals can enter the food chain at high trophic levels.
4. They can escape into groundwater which causes soil erosion and disturbances in soil pH.
