Two fuse wires are rated 5 A and 20 A. Which of the two is (i) thicker, (ii) longer?

Solution:

(i) As the wire thickness increases, the current increases, allowing more electrons to travel through a larger area. As a result, 20 A wire will be thicker than 5 A wire.

(ii) The length of both fuse wires may be the same.
