Solution:

Because of true breeding, Mendel pollinated a pure-breeding tall plant with a pure-breeding dwarf plant to produce the F1 generation. Half of the kids of a genotype resemble one parent, while the other half resembles the other parent. Because the cross’s offspring are heterozygous, self-pollination is permitted.
