The colour of the sky, in the direction of the sun, is blue. Explain.

As light passes through the atmosphere, the air molecules in its passage disperse it in different ways. Because of its small wavelength, blue light scatters more than red light with a longer wavelength. As a result, the light straight from the sun that reaches our eyes is rich in red, but the light from all other directions that reaches our eyes is dispersed blue. As a result, the sky is blue in the direction of the sun.
