MAHACET is short for the Maharashtra Common Entrance Exam, conducted by the government of Maharashtra. It is a common entrance exam for those students who want to pursue engineering or pharmacy. The physics MAHACET Syllabus consists of topics from both 11th and 12th classes.

In this article, we will learn about the Physics MAHACET syllabus, from the theory, weightage of theory syllabus to the practicals. Then, we will cover all the aspects of the Physics MAHACET syllabus 2021. According to the new syllabus launched by the Maharashtra state government, 11th class physics will have a weightage of 20%, and 12th class physics will have a weightage of 80%. For 2020-2021, the state has selected a few topics from the class 11th physics syllabus. From class 12th, almost all the contents are included in the physics MAHACET syllabus.

Each topic in the syllabus has its weightage. The questions in the exam are asked according to the weightage assigned. The exam is held online, and the students are given 3 hours for it.

Exam Pattern of Maharashtra CET 2021

For 2021-2022, the Physics Mhtcet syllabus 2021 is reduced due to the Covid 19. The common entrance exam is an online exam. For this exam, the student gets a total of 3 hours to complete all the sections. The first section is Mathematics which has 50 questions.

The second section is Physics and Chemistry that has 100 questions. And the third section is Biology which has 100 questions. All the questions in this exam are MCQ-based. There is no negative marking for any questions.

The students have an option to select a combination of three subjects to write the exam. The first combination is Maths, Physics, and Chemistry that is called PCM. The other combination is Physics, Chemistry, and Biology that is called PCB. The PCM has 150 questions and, PCB has 200 questions.

Summary of Theory syllabus

For the year 2021, the exam pattern is the same as the year 2020. The theory syllabus comprises chapters from both class 11th and class 12th. The class 12th Physics syllabus has a lot of weightage. The weights assigned to the subjects above are according to the questions asked in the previous year’s paper.

As you can see, the most weightage is given to Kinetic theory (12%). Oscillations are also a very crucial topic for the exam. It can be a little tough to understand, but it holds a lot of importance. There are also a lot of numerical problems. The topic Gravitation has some tricky numerical problems. Questions were asked from the Units section as well. The best thing about this common entrance exam is that it does not have any negative marking. You can attempt a lot of questions without the fear of getting a low score. For every correct answer, the students will get one mark.

Practical syllabus of Maharashtra CET 2021

The MAHA CET is an online entrance exam. The physics MAHA CET syllabus consists of short answer questions and numerical problems. The numerical questions can be considered practical questions. The exam is of 180 minutes with 90 minutes for each section. You will have to make sure you are thorough on the topics and formulas to solve and get the correct answer in the minimum time frame. There are no practical experiments for this exam.

If we analyze last year’s paper, a lot of numericals are from kinetic theory. The gravitational chapter also contributed to the numerical part. A few questions were asked from the stationary waves section. Make sure you are thorough with the formulas of all the syllabus stated earlier.
