Name a plant, which accumulates silicon.

Solution: Silicon is abundant in the soil, but it is taken up by the flowers in the form of mono-silicic acid. When plants are under stress, silicon appears to help them. It has been shown to boost the plant’s capacity to maintain micronutrients and different metal toxicities (i.e. aluminium, copper, iron, manganese, zinc) and to promote dehydration endurance and postpone fading in certain products where spraying is delayed.

Oryza Sativa (Asian Rice) is one such plant which accumulates silicon.
