Mycorrhiza is a mutualistic association. How do the organisms involved in this association benefit from each other?

Solution: A fungus and the roots of a vascular plant form a symbiotic relationship known as mycorrhiza. The plant absorbs phosphate and other minerals from the soil by mycorrhization, including zinc and copper. The fungus gets nutrients from the plant root, such as sugars. Fungi require carbohydrates from plants to flourish. The fungus, in turn, operate as an extension of root hairs, assisting in greater mineral and nutrient absorption from the soil.
