How do bats avoid obstacles in their way, when in flight?

Bats can create and perceive ultra-high-frequency sounds up to roughly 100 kHz. Bats’ sound is reflected back to them by a barrier in front of them as they fly. They can tell where the obstacles are even in the dark by hearing the echoes. Bats may so fly securely without clashing with objects.
