Solution:
The advantages of a ring system over a tree system are as follows:
(i) Wiring in a ring system is less expensive than in a tree system.
(ii) In a ring system, sockets and plugs of the same size can be used. Whereas in a tree system, sockets and plugs of different sizes can be used.
(iii) In a ring system, each appliance has its own fuse. As a result, if a fuse in one appliance burns due to a fault, it has no effect on the operation of the other appliances, whereas in a tree system, if a fuse in one distribution line blows, it disconnects all appliances linked to that distribution circuit.
