From the question it is given that,

The number of shares $650$

Then, shares of ₹ $100$ each at a discount of $24% = (100 – 24% of ₹ 100)$

$= 100 – ((24/100) × 100)$

$= 100 – 24$

$= ₹ 76$

So, the investment required to buy $650$ shares $= 650 × 76$

$= ₹ 49, 400$

From the question it is given that,

The number of shares $216$

Then, shares of ₹ $125$ each at par

So, the investment required to buy $216$ shares $= 125 × 216$

= ₹ $27,000$
