12. Both lysosomes and vacuoles are endomembrane structures, yet they differ in terms of their functions. Comment.

Solution:

The endomembrane is an intercellular structure that allows materials to pass from one area to another via vesicles. Vacuoles, plasma membrane, endoplasmic reticulum, lysosomes, and the golgi apparatus are some of its components. Lysosomes, sometimes known as suicide sacks, are membrane-bound organelles that release lytic enzymes to disintegrate worn-out cells. Vacuoles, on the other hand, assist cells in maintaining their form. Food, water, and waste items are also stored in vacuoles.
