A solid iron cuboidal block of dimensions 4.4 m × 2.6 m × 1m is recast into a hollow cylindrical pipe of internal radius 30 cm and thickness 5 cm. Find the length of the pipe.
A solid iron cuboidal block of dimensions 4.4 m × 2.6 m × 1m is recast into a hollow cylindrical pipe of internal radius 30 cm and thickness 5 cm. Find the length of the pipe.

Thinking about cuboidal square

Length, l = 4 m

Expansiveness, b = 2.6 m

Stature, h = 1 m

We realize that,

Volume of tank = lbh

Volume of cuboid = 4.4(2.6)(1) = 11.44 m3

We realize that,

The volume stays same when a body is reworked to another body.

As per the inquiry,

Volume of tube shaped line = 11.44 m3

Thinking about pipe or the empty chamber

Inner sweep, r2 = 30 cm = 0.3 m

Thickness = 5 cm

Outside sweep, r1 = Internal range + thickness = 30 + 5 = 35 cm = 0.35 m

Let the length of line = h

We realize that,

Volume of an empty chamber \[=\text{ }\pi h\left( r12\text{ }\text{ }r22 \right)\]

NCERT Exemplar Class 10 Maths Chapter 12 Ex. 12.4 Question 9

Henceforth,

Volume of line = πh((0.35)2 – (0.3)2)

Thus, the length of line is 112 m.
