How is a fuse put in an electric circuit? State the purpose of using a fuse in a circuit.

Solution:

Porcelain is an insulator of electricity. This is why the fuse wire in a porcelain holder is stretched between the two metallic terminals T1 and T2. This holder is designed to fit into a porcelain socket with two metallic terminals to which the circuit’s live wire is connected. As a result, the fuse wire connects to the live wire. The fuse configuration is depicted in the diagram below.
