Solution – in day time the  plants undergo photosynthesis so it is not possible to show respiration in green plants at that time . Photosynthesis takes place in the day time and requires carbon dioxide for the reaction to take place , while respiration liberates carbon dioxide . In the process of photosynthesis oxygen is given out which is taken up the plants for the process of respiration . So in sunlight respiration cant take place .
